Atletico Madrid have reportedly identified Fiorentina forward Dusan Vlahovic as their number one target for this transfer window as per the report from Gianluca Di Marzio.
The 21-year-old joined the Serie A side back in 2018 from Partizan Belgrade for around €2 million. The Serbian enjoyed a stellar season last term with La Viola, scoring 21 goals and notching up three assists in 37 league appearances. Following an impressive campaign, the forward has caught the attention of many big clubs and is in demand for this transfer window.
According to Di Marzio, Atletico Madrid are ready to make a €50 million offer for Vlahovic in the coming days. La Viola will discuss the offer with the Serbian and the future of the 21-year-old will get finalized in the coming days.
Having already signed Rodrigo De Paul from Udinese, Los Colchoneros are now looking to raid another Italian contingent player. The forward will be an excellent acquisition for Diego Simeone’s side as the player has shown in the last season that he can score goals as well as eager to work hard off the ball.
Could Vlahovic to Atletico Madrid be a good fit?
Atletico Madrid have been desperately looking for a new centre-forward for quite some time. They signed Moussa Dembele on loan last season from Olympique Lyonnais. However, the Frenchman failed to showcase his quality in the Spanish capital and returned to his parent club.
Vlahovic could be a perfect addition to Atletico Madrid’s forward line. The forward is good back to goal, quick, strong and also dominant in the air. The Serbian could form an excellent partnership alongside Luis Suárez. These two can complement each other perfectly.
The Uruguayan has lost his speed and sharpness at this stage of his career, however, still has the finishing and poacher instinct inside the box. Vlahovic could develop at Estadio Wanda Metropolitano under the tutelage of the Uruguayan.
Following the recent difficulties of Real Madrid and Barcelona, the Rojiblancos will be the favourites to defend their La Liga title this season. And signing Vlahovic could make Atletico Madrid even stronger to do well in the domestic competition as well as in the Champions League.
