Barcelona and Gavi are a match made in heaven

Gavi

Barcelona had a rough last month. The Catalans were dumped out of the UCL after disappointing results against Inter Milan and Bayern Munich. Moreover, they also dropped down to 2nd in La Liga after the defeat against La Liga rivals Real Madrid. They are now top of the league after great results in recent games. But all in all, it has been a tough period for the club. They have suffered a lot with injuries as key players picked up knocks in crucial periods. Ronald Araujo and Jules Kounde picked up injuries in the international break and it had a big effect on Barcelona’s results.

But apart from all this mess on the pitch, Barcelona will be really delighted that the players are easing the pressure off. One of the sensations that they have discovered in recent times is 18-year-old Gavi. The teenager has been nothing but utterly sensational for the Blaugranas. He was also the winner of the Kopa trophy a month back and also the Golden Boy winner. The 18-year-old had a breakthrough Campaign last season as he made history at just 17 years of age. This season also, he has started in the same manner as he left the last one. Always giving 100% on the pitch and a brilliant off-the-ball worker, Gavi can fit right into any team in the world.

Gavi has also invited praise from manager Xavi who feels he is too good for a 17-year-old. The tenacity, determination, energy he brings on the pitch is one of the driving forces of the team. Gavi in an interview revealed his time at Barcelona since he was young.

The first time I left Betis to join Barca was in 2015. I was a little apprehensive because I didn’t know what was waiting for me here. But my parents reassured me. They accompanied me because I was 10-11 years old. We lived in an apartment in the Rambla. I’ve always supported Barca. I have been dreaming of playing for this club since my childhood.”

Busquets has his say on sensational Gavi

Fair to say, Gavi is surrounded by legends all around. On one hand, he is coached by one of the greatest midfielders of the game. On the other hand, he plays with arguably the greatest CDM of the game. Sergio Busquets is the perfect Dad for Gavi and Pedri who can take their game to the next level.

Busquets said,

I have to control all of the young guns a little, but Gavi more. That’s the thing about the youngsters. They can be funnier, more clueless, but when it comes down to it, they all pitch in and listen to the older ones,”

he said.

“He’s like that. I am lucky that he is on my team. Nobody beats him for character and intensity. He has some very good things for the team and others that he has to polish. At his age, imagine the things he can add to his repertoire.”
