According to a report by AS, FC Barcelona are interested in midfielder Mauro Arambarri and is willing to sign him on a season-long loan. It is no secret that the Catalans are in the transfer market for a midfield addition this season. The club was close to signing Georginio Wijnaldum but loosed the battle to PSG. And now they are back to the option situation and targets Mauro Arambarri for a loan.

The 25-year-old is a talented midfielder playing for Getafe since 2018, in which he appeared 143 times and scored and assisted 6 times. His consistency and strong performance for Getafe also earned him a call-up from the Uruguayan national team. While his development over the last few years helped him be on the radar of some clubs this summer. The list includes some big names like Manchester United, Atletico Madrid and recent addition Barcelona.

Arambarri is a player who means a lot to Getafe, following which the club president is not ready to let him leave at a small price. As Angel Torres has made it clear earlier of wanting at least €25 million for the transfer. However, Barcelona are pushing for a loan deal due to their current financial condition.

Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman wants a player who would be bringing both physicality and technicality to his midfield. After nearly missing the chance to sign Wijnaldum the club had a long list of options. But all of them are cut off as the Catalans cannot afford anything other than loans. And following this situation Barcelona have made a loan move to sign Mauro Arambarri this summer.

However, it will not be easy for the Catalans to convince Getafe to let go of one of their important midfielders. But a good negotiation skill from Barcelona could surely help to bring Arambarri to Camp Nou.
