Barcelona eye january move for Chelsea’s struggling star

Barcelona are said to be interested to sign Ben Chilwell in january. Chilwell has currently fallen down the favour and is struggling for game time at Chelsea.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca told Chilwell that he was not part of plans and hence he should start finding a new club. But, the player was injured and hence the Blues were unable to sell him.

Chilwell then stayed at Stamford Bridge but has not been preferred by Maresca. He has fallen down the pecking order behind Marc Cucurella and Renato Viega. The Blues are keen to sell him and hence will listen to offers in January.

Barcelona keeping tabs on Ben Chilwell

According to El Nacional, the Spanish giants may make a move for Chilwell in january. They want to sign a backup for Alejandro Balde. Chilwell may get more chances to play at Barca, but Chelsea will have a big say in the deal.

The Blues may force Barca to make a permanent move for Chilwell. The Spanish giants are in financial crises and would prefer a loan move instead. Along with Chilwell they also want to sign a backup for right back position.

As for the right back position, the Spanish giants are planning to make a move for Oscar Mingueza. Mingueza plays for Celta Vigo who are unwilling to sell him but Barca have a buy-back option. He will cost Barca around €10 million.

The Blues too hold interest in signing one Barca player. They are plotting a move for Jules Kounde who was close to joining them in 2022. The Blues may have to spend more than €60 million but they can be up for that offer.

They want to sign a quality fullback as Reece James has been highly injury probe. In addition, Kounde even plays as a central defender which makes him a key asset for any team.
