Barcelona has completed the signing of Lucas Roman ahead of competitors

Barcelona Atletic is one of the world’s best youth teams for budding footballers. The team famously known as Barca B has produced many top footballers over the years. The latest product of the youth team is Gavi, who has cemented his place amongst the first team squad at the age of 18.

The club has recently added young talent to the B team after shrugging off competition. Lucas Roman is a promising Argentine forward who has been signed for Barca B. The forward is 18 years old and has already impressed former Barcelona man, Javier Mascherano at his previous club.

Top clubs including River Plate and Boca Juniors in Argentina wanted to sign the youngster. The Blaugrana have paid a good €1.2 million for the 18-year-old. Boca Juniors and River Plate failed to convince the player of the move and he eventually moved to Spain.

Barcelona has always been farsighted with respect to transfers

The club has always invested in young talent from across the globe with a view to developing them into stars. Lionel Messi was signed by Barcelona at the tender age of 13 and we all know how it turned out for the club. The Argentina Captain also started his professional career with Barca B before moving to the first-team squad.

The Catalan giants have done something similar with Spanish midfielder Gavi recently. The youngster was signed from Real Betis for the Barcelona Atletic. The maestro was promoted to the first team squad by the former manager, Ronald Koeman after he impressed him in training.

Barcelona is hoping that the transfer for Lucas Roman is going to prove a success story as well. The forward is rated highly and was on the radar of multiple European clubs as well. However, the Argentine has decided to follow in the footsteps of Lionel Messi. Hopefully, the transfer will benefit the player as well and help him transform into a top player!
