Barcelona is eyeing a 3 million move for Ligue one defender

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Barcelona has been very active in the summer transfer window. The signings have been influential in the league’s performances. However, the club still has one spot left to get reinforcements, that being the right back position. With Dest being left out of the squad list for the last games, FC Barcelona is without a natural right-back. Xavi has used Araujo in the position, but Araujo is clearly not comfortable in the position. In the last match against Real Valladolid, Kounde played as the make-shift right-back. Kounde had a decent debut in the position. Roberto has for long played at the right-back position owing to his versatility. However, his shortcomings have been displayed over the years.

Barcelona is surveying the market for a cheap option

The club has been linked with many players over the past few days. Juan Fyoth, Bellerin, and Hamari Traore. Any move for a new full-back would be cheap as Barcelona has to work in accordance with La Liga’s Financial Power Play. This makes any move for Juan Foyth a hard one.

Hamari Traore from Ligue 1 side Rennes has made it into the list as a cheaper target. The 30-year-old has been a vital part of the Rennes team since his move in 2017. Traore is a pacy offensive full-back who is equally adept in defensive actions. Last season in 33 appearances, he managed a laudable three goals and ten assists. The Malian international’s contract expires in 2023, making him an affordable option for the role. His 2 million annual wages would also be feasible for the club.

According to the Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, The Blaugrana are ready to make an opening bid of 3 million euros in the next 48 hours.

While the player would be an excellent choice to fill the role, his age is one concerning factor. However, as a short-term option for the part, he can offer his vast experience to Xavi’s team.
