Barcelona is eyeing a swift move for 16-year-old Prodigy

Endrick Felipe

Barcelona has scouted 16-year-old Brazilian prodigy Endrick on several occasions. Without a question, Endrick appears to be developing into the most exciting prospect in South American football right now. The Palmeiras prodigy’s impressive displays in the juvenile levels have drawn much attention.

His rapid development has caught the eyes of many top European giants. Among them are Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. Both the clubs have a history of procuring natural talents from Brazil that went on to script their names in history. Much recently, Real Madrid has extended its vision into Brazilian football. Vinicius and Rodrygo are only two names of successful recruitment.

Barcelona is ready to swoop to sign Endrick

According to a report by Diario Sport, Barcelona has identified young talent as the primary target in the South American market. According to FIFA rules, Endrick has to turn 18 before agreeing to move to Europe. Even then, Barcelona is prepared to get into a pole position and move ahead of arch-rivals Real Madrid. The board has given scout Deco to move forwards and approach his agents. Deco is responsible for spotting talents in South America.

The Blaugrana and Endrick’s representatives met in Catalonia, where the Blaugrana went into great detail about their plans to acquire the 16-year-old. FC Barcelona’s plan to move ahead of Real Madrid will be challenging. Given Real Madrid’s glorious history of nurturing Brazilian talents, the player would be attracted more to the capital club.

However, Barcelona would pitch their part of the project and display the plethora of talents that made the cut from La Masia into the first team. These include Gavi, Ansu Fati, Nico, Araujo and Eric Garcia.

With moves for the talent imminent, it would soon be evident which club won the race.
