Barcelona is looking to make a move for a former academy graduate

Dani

Barcelona has been linked with a possible interest in bringing back Dani Olmo for a couple of seasons. With every passing transfer window, a move for the Spanish international has always been rumored. But none of the rumors has materialized into an actual activity up until now.

The 24-year-old left La Masia to join Dinamo Zagreb in 2014. The move was no surprise as, under former President Bartemou, the academy lost its prominence. The player started to catch everyone’s notice with his move to RB Leipzig in January 2020. Since then, he has managed 17 goals and 21 assists in 95 appearances. Following his fantastic development, Spain coach Luis Enrique has also put his trust in the player. The player is now a regular starter on the international stage.

Barcelona is interested in a last-minute effort to sign Dani Olmo

According to a report by Fichajes, FC Barcelona is reconsidering a move for the versatile player before the summer transfer window closes. Xavi is said to be a strong admirer of the player. Barcelona had previously made a late effort to sign the player in the summer of 2021.

With the future of Frenkie De Jong up in the air and a move for Bernardo Silva more distant than ever. Barcelona would like to bring back Olmo to replace De Jong. However, any approach for the player will be tough. RB Leipzig considers him an essential part of their team. His contract is valid until 2024, and they would not make it easy for Barcelona at any cost.

A wise decision would be to make a real effort to sign the player in 2023. Dani Olmo is also excited about a move back to Camp Nou. However, it is to be seen if the player would push for the move back home.
