According to several reports, FC Barcelona has made a verbal agreement with Georginio Wijnaldum. The Dutchman is a free agent upon the expiry of his contract with Liverpool at the end of the season. It is believed that Barcelona has presented a three-year deal for the midfielder.
The 30-year-old joined Liverpool from Newcastle in 2016 in a deal worth £23 million. Since then he has gone on to become one of the most consistent midfielders in the Premier League during his five years with the Reds.
Wijnaldum has appeared 237 times while scoring 22 goals and registered 16 assists in all competitions for the Reds. The midfielder has helped Liverpool to win the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and FIFA Club World during his stay.
The Dutchman is out of contract end of the season and has decided to leave the Anfield club. Jurgen Klopp wanted him to stay but the player decided otherwise.
The Midfielder featured in his last for the Reds on Sunday. Liverpool went to win 2-0 against Crystal Palace in their last match of the season. While securing a Champions League spot by finishing third in the league table.

Barcelona all set to sign Wijnaldum
Wijnaldum was one of Ronald Koeman’s top targets last summer. Barcelona was unable to sign the midfielder last summer, but now look set to sign their man on a free transfer this summer.
Wijnaldum played a starring role for the Netherlands under Ronald Koeman. He used him as an advanced midfielder to provide a thrust in the final third. Signing the midfielder can also prove that Koeman will stay next season and continue serving as manager.
