About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Barcelona are a changed sight now. A club which was struggling to pay the wages of its players is now once again the biggest in world football. It was a brilliant transfer window for the Catalans as they conjured up some really important signings. It finally looks like the Catalans are back to their very best under coach Xavi. They have had a brilliant start to their season with just one loss coming against Bayern Munich. The Blaugranas have scored the most goals in La Liga and have also held the most clean sheets. As good as the attack is, the defense also seems to be very secure this time.

But the addition of new players has made life very refreshing for the fans. Jules Kounde has made a fantastic start to life at his new club Barcelona. He is now one of the first names on the team for Xavi. The squad looks very happy which is reflected in their performances. Marc Andre Ter Stegen seems to be back at his best for Xavi with Lewandowski scoring goals for fun. It finally looks like Barcelona are ready to take on Europe even though they lost against Bayern Munich. There is positivity all around with the veterans mostly on the bench for Xavi. Reports are circulating that major changes are going to take place next season at the club.

As reports say, the likes of Pique, Busquets, and Jordi Alba are expected to leave next season. Busquets’s departure is pretty much confirmed next season with the veteran moving to Inter Miami. Jordi Alba is told by the club to look for a new place to play with him being just a surplus to Xavi. Gerard Pique will most probably retire at the end of the season if he plays less than 35% of games. With Xavi at the top, the club has already identified potential replacements for the veterans. Martin Zubimendi and Inigo Martinez are the players targeted by Xavi.

Captaincy changes at Barcelona next season?

Veterans stepping back and youngsters stepping up, the scenes have changed with Xavi around. Frustration can be really seen on the faces of the Pique, Alba who are warming the bench this season. Xavi has trusted the new signings and the youngsters this season. As reports say, new leadership decisions will be taken next season. Marc Ter Stegen, Lewandowski, Araujo, and Pedri are the players that the club wants to be the 4 captains of the club.

It is a major decision that the club will take but one that everyone expected much earlier. The fans always wanted the likes of Ter Stegen, and Araujo to lead and finally have their wish granted. Were these the steps that should have been taken earlier by the club? The Roma Debacle, The Anfield horror were all signs that changes should take place. But the management did nothing about it. Finally, it seems the good old days are back for Barcelona!
