Barcelona to offload unwanted players soon

Julian Araujo

Barcelona had one of their best transfer windows in recent history. The Catalan club signed no less than six top players in July and are soon going to start their season officially in August. The Blaugranas have got the likes of Lewandowski, Kessie, Christensen, Raphinha , Kounde this season. It still is not over for them as they look to make one last top signing this year.

However, in order to register new players, Barcelona have to get onto the task of offloading some. Coach Xavi has communicated to the players that he feels are surplus to the needs of the club. He has advised the players that it would be in the best interest of both parties if they find a new club. The club can only have a certain amount of players in the squad and also fit them under the salary cap.

The players that are deemed as surplus include goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and even attackers. These include Neto, Oscar Mingueza, Samuel Umtiti, Riqui Puig, Martin Braithwaite, and even Memphis Depay. These players know that sooner or later, they will have to find a new club. Clement Lenglet has left for Tottenham and Mingueza looks close to Celta Vigo.

Barcelona’s insane Squad for 2022/23

Barcelona is more than just a team. The club even in its worst time has been able to attract the biggest players in world football. They are building a monster team for the next season which is evident from their signings. For every position, Xavi has got a quality backup player that he can trust. From goalkeeping to attack, the quality of the squad is unquestioned.

The likes of Ansu Fati, Lewa, and Dembele might be the starters with Raphinha, Auba, and Ferran as backups. Defense seems to be improved massively with the arrival of Kounde and Christensen. Barcelona may just be back at their very best next season under Xavi if he can get this squad performing. Football may be in for a big treat next season!
