Barcelona went bid in the summer transfer market. Along with the quality players, the club signed one name rings loud. Robert Lewandowski, the most prolific striker in Europe for the past couple of seasons, signed for FC Barcelona from Bayern Munich. The Polish legend signed for a 50 million euros deal. While 50 million for a player of Lewandowski’s age might seem high, the player has undoubtedly proved that he is worth the bet.
Lewandowski has had a great start to life in La Liga. Under the tutelage of Xavi, the player has settled right into the team. In six matches in La Liga, the player has already scored eight goals. The eight goals in the league also mean he is currently the leader of the Pichichi trophy.
Barcelona unveiled Lewandowski’s picture outside Nou Camp
The star player of Xavi’s project was unveiled as the latest player to feature on the walls of Camp Nou. The player replaced Aubameyang on the poster. The poster also includes players from both the men’s and women’s teams. His picture shows the club is satisfied with the fees it paid for him.
Aubameyang left for Chelsea in the summer for a reported deal of 12 million euros. The agreement also saw Marcus Alonso making his way into Camp Nou. The Gabon star only arrived at the club back in January from Arsenal. In his short stint at Barcelona, the player presented terrific performances to help Barcelona grab the second spot in the league. In the process, he has also won over the Barcelona supporters.
All eyes will now be on Lewandowski’s impact on the team. Along with Xavi and the whole squad, Barcelona is aiming for the La Liga trophy and a shot at Champions League glory.
