Barcelona’s new home kit has been unveiled after months of rumors. It is the first to include the club’s new sponsor Spotify. The ‘The Flame Lives On’ Nike-made strip is inspired by the city’s hosting of the 1992 Olympics.

For the time being, the new Barcelona home shirt is only available at the club’s official store.

The reason behind Barcelona’s new home kit

Barcelona’s new home kit design symbolizes the spirit of that moment of renewal and reinvention. A time when Barcelona opened up to the rest of the world and likewise. The city made a giant step forward into modernity by hosting the Olympic Games 30 years ago.

The club has opted to draw on and share that Olympic spirit at a time when its efforts are very much focused on the future, as the current era is also one of such huge changes to the first-team roster.

“The design of home strip evokes the new light introduced to the city of Barcelona with the creation of new spaces and most especially new connections to the sea, an idea that is represented by the different coloured stripes on the shirt, where red alternates with two different shades of blue, one navy and the other lighter.” – FCBarcelona.com

Details in the kit

The FC Barcelona new home kit features a contemporary design that includes dark blue stripes. They come along with the customary Blaugrana stripes.

The kit boasts solid navy sleeves and collars, with navy, royal blue, and red stripes running across the front. Used on the kit is Obsidian, the color of the emblems on the gold away uniform, which is the official term for dark blue.

A modest graphic appears inside the blue and red stripes on the front of Nike FC Barcelona’s new home kit, which will also appear on other pieces from the collection, such as the pre-match shirt.

The new home kit’s shorts and socks are dark blues, a repeating element in the Catalan club’s home kit history.

Conclusion

On repping the new colors for another season, the Catalan fans are eager to see how their side will perform under Xavi. Everyone is hoping their season would turn out to be colorful this time. That is to say, the turnover the club observed over the last few months.
