Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund: Daily Transfer Updates

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich will pass on Borna Sosa

Bayern Munich has been heavily linked with a move for VfB Stuttgart left-back Borna Sosa. The versatile Croatian player can play both as a left-back and a left-wingback according to the occasion. Over the past few seasons, Sosa has been of the left at his position in the league. In 28 matches last season, he picked up a goal and eight assists. These are impressive numbers for a left-back. The player has attracted a lot of interest from top European clubs. Manchester City, Bayern and F.C Barcelona are all involved. Bayern is, however, the most advance in making a move for the player. However, the Bayern board has ruled out any move for the Croatian. The board believes they have enough players to cover the position and don’t need more cover.

Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann is said to be a massive admirer of the player. However, the left-back position in Bayern Munich is already dominated by Alphonso Davies, who is the permanent starter in the position. Apart from Davies, the club also has Lucas Hernandez and Josip Stanisic, quality players who can fill his shoes.

Borrusia Dortmund, the CEO, speaks of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Borrusia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke spoke to Sky Jesco, about rumours linking Cristiano Ronaldo to the club. He said;

“I love Cristiano Ronaldo. It’s certainly a charming idea to see Cristiano play at Signal Iduna Park. But there is no contract at all between the parties involved.

The CEO was clear about the club’s intention. However, he did not deny any possible move from happening before the transfer market closes.”

Ronaldo has been trying to move out of Manchester United this summer. His agent Jorge Mendes has approached several clubs such as Chelsea and Bayern Munich. But all have rejected the idea of signing the 37-year-old. Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag has publicly expressed his intentions to keep Ronaldo in the club.
