Bayern Munich denies interest in signing Dani Ceballos of Real Madrid

Italian goalkeeper

The media was awash with reports recently that Bayern Munich showed interest in Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos. With his recent form upswing and contract situation in doubt, European clubs were seemingly interested in the player’s future at the Bernabeu.

SPORT1’s latest update on Ceballos’ future has denied Bayern Munich’s interest in him. This removes the midfielder’s biggest option if he does not want to stay at the club. According to reports, Ceballos is completely focusing on Real Madrid, regardless of any interest from other clubs.

He will be a free agent in June, which forces the club to make a decision soon on whether to extend his contract. Due to the player’s recent form, the club do not oppose the possibility that he might become a fifth- or sixth-choice midfielder next season. In addition, a renewal would have no impact on his wage status.

Dani Ceballos to stay in Real Madrid?

Currently, Ceballos is torn between playing time and a Real Madrid spot. It may be inevitable for the midfielder to depart in the summer if he gets the playing time he desires.

In his last 12 appearances for Real Madrid, the 26-year-old scored one goal and provided four assists. In La Liga, he averages 1.2 key passes per game and is becoming a regular starter.

As Toni Kroos and Aurelien Tchouameni are absent from tonight’s match against Liverpool, Ceballos could start. Ancelotti will then have to decide whether to add a midfielder or winger to the newly vacated spot.
