Recent transfer update : Chelsea are ready to sell Ben Chilwell after recently being axed from the first team squad.
The 27 year old along with fellow Englishman Raheem Sterling becomes the newest additions to the seven member list of Chelsea outcasts. Maresca was also vocal about Chilwell finding it hard to fit into the new Chelsea system. Manchester United have always admired the prospects of signing him but now it could materialize. As per some sources Manchester United have been offered a chance to sign Chilwell this window.
BEN CHILLWELL UPDATE : A CHELSEA OUTCAST
Ben Chilwell was one of the crucial members of the Chelsea squad that won the UEFA Champions League in 2021. Now just three years on, he is axed from the first team and is told to secure a move away before the transfer window shuts. It is true that the Englishman had suffered quiet a few injuries during his time at Chelsea. But is this the kind of farewell he deserves? At least some Chelsea fans will be wondering What is happening with their club lately.
Academy graduates Mason Mount sold last year after being told ot go. And Conor Gallagher, first denying him a contract he deserves, not trying to make him stay, axed from the squad and sold. Now Ben Chilwell, Trevoh Chalobah and Raheem Sterling are going through the same. Chilwell was also their vice-captain last season. What a change an year can make. Marc Cucurella is prefered at the first choice left back, with the talented youngster Renato Veiga as his understudy.
New Manager Enzo Maresca in the Pre-match press conference before the UECL play offs confirmed that Chilwell and Sterling are out of his plans.
OFFERED TO MANCHESTER UNITED
The recent update on Ben Chilwell from talkSPORT, fellow Premier League giants Manchester United have been offered a chance to sign Ben Chilwell. If he signs for the Red Devils he will be following the route of his former teammate Mason Mount. Who secured a move to Old trafford last summer. With Gallagher already gone it is likely that the English man is also on his way out. A permanent deal would be prefered by the Blues but if not a loan move will also help the Blues clear out their excess lump.
United showed interest in Chilwell earlier this window and now offered with a chance. We are yet to be clear aboutthe price tag. But we expect it to be aroud 35 to 45 million pounds. Or maximum it could go upto 50 million pounds. The first and second choice left backs are injured for Man Utd. While Luke Shaw is sidelined for a calf injury and is expected to be back in September. The case of Tyrell Malacia is a bit sad. He is nursing with a knee injury and is likely to be out until January. So in that scenario Ten Hag would be happy to have an option like Ben Chilwell in his squad. Against Fulham he had to use Diego Dalot on the left even though is a right back.
FELLOW OUTCASTS
Along with Ben Chilwell, there are a few more outcasts trying to untangle themselves from the cobwebbs at Cobham. Trevoh Chalobah, Raheem Sterling, Armando Broja, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Datro Fofana and Romelu Lukaku among the prominent names from that list.
Acdemy graduate Chalobah is attracting interests from various PL clubs including Crystal Palace and Newcastle United. Armando Broja is close to secure a move to newly promoted Ipswich town according to reports. The initial deal would be on loan with a buy option. Romelu Lukaku is wanted by Napoli and as per the reports the clubs are close to agreeing a deal. Raheem Sterling along with Chalobah were stripped of their numbers yesterday 7 and 14 respectively. And given to new signings Pedro Neto and Joao Felix. sterling is attracting interests from Italian giants Juventus but nothing concrete yet. No news of Kepa and Fofana. Busy days ahead for Chelsea and their outcasts.
