Bengaluru FC vs Kerala Blasters : Preview, Team News and Predicted Lineups

Bengaluru FC host Kerala Blasters in the much-awaited Southern Derby on Sunday 13th December 2020 at Fatorda Stadium in the Indian Super League.

The Blues from Karnataka come from a 2-2 draw against Northeast United. They currently sit at 4th place in the Hero ISL table.

However, the Yellow Brigade is secure less and come from a frustrating 3-1 defeat to ISL hosts, FC Goa. They would be looking to bounce back with a win and are currently struggling at 9th position in the table.

Bengaluru FC vs Kerala Blasters: Preview

A perfect win against their rivals would be on the cards for Carles Cuadrat’s Bengaluru. They had enjoyed a derby win against Chennaiyin FC after a fine penalty by skipper Sunil Chhetri.

However, they had to fight hard to achieve a 2-2 draw against Northeast United. Defensive issues are starting to emerge but still they are more clinical upfront as compared to the Blasters.

Kerala Blasters have been not able to find a win till now. However, under former coach Eelco Schattorie, they could defeat Bengaluru 2-1.

Vicente Gomez has been picking up the form whereas Gary Hooper is still silent in front of the goal. Thus, Kibu Vicuna expects more from the English centre forward.

We expect goals from Gary. He needs time also to play with the team, to know the team. To know his teammates and for sure Gary is going to have a good season.”

In 6 matches between these two teams, Bengaluru had won four, Kerala had won one and a draw had occurred. Accordingly, BFC has scored 11 goals and conceded 6 goals against Kerala.

Bengaluru FC has no reports of any injuries and they might be fielding with their best lineup. Basically, they might continue the 3-5-2 formation with Udanta Singh back in the starting 11.

However, Kerala has injury issues with them as their captain Sergio Cidoncha is going to miss this season due to injuries. Another captain Costa Nhamoinesu will miss this match due to a red card in the last match against FC Goa.
