Bernardo Silva: Barca set to hold talks with Manchester City

Bernardo Silva is one of the best midfielders at present. One of the most pivotal parts of the City midfield, he is perfect for any side that plays a possession-based offensive style. Xavi is said to be a great admirer of Silva, mainly because of his adept way of playing between the lines. He would be the perfect fit alongside Pedri.

Silva is more than excited about the move as it is his childhood dream of playing for Barca. The Cityzens boss Pep Guardiola is not expected to cause any problem if the deal is to go through.

Ever reliable Spanish reporter Gerard Romero stated that Bernardo’s potential final fee would not exceed 60 million euros.

Bernado Silva deal complications.

Of course, the deal depends on Frenkie De Jong’s future. Even if Barcelona’s President has time and again assured that Frenkie is not for sale. Frenkie’s future is, as of present, far from Camp Nou. The primary issue is de Jong’s wages which are way more than the standard wage structure the board has set for the players. Barca owes around 17 million to Frenkie in deferred wages. The player is yet to agree to a wage cut.

Romero has also stated that Bernado is looking for a house in Barcelona. Romero has said that Barca will make an appointment with the Machester City board this week. The meeting would be to discuss a potential fee between 50 million to 60 million euros.

Bernado is considered to be closer to Barcelona than ever. Barcelona is now expected to go through the deal to sign Silva even if de Jong stays. However, with the financial restraints to register players, it would be interesting to see how the board manages to register the signing ahead of the first league game. Barcelona is ready to initiate its fourth lever if the situation complicates further.

Cules will be hoping for the signing of Bernardo Silva. It would also be interesting to see how Xavi manages his stacked midfield.
