Recent reports have emerged that Bernardo Silva dreams of playing for Real Madrid at the Bernabeu. The Portuguese midfielder wanted to leave at the start of this season and is likely to demand a move in the upcoming transfer window.
Pep Guardiola vocally admitted to Silva’s desire to leave Manchester City in the summer. However, most of the big teams were financially crippled to sign the midfielder. Since then, Bernardo Silva has played a major role in Manchester City’s team. He has arguably been City’s best player on the pitch. His versatility makes him a prized asset to Pep’s system. He has grabbed 9 goals and 3 assists this season.
Every team in the world would want the likes of Bernardo Silva in their squad. He is a hard-working versatile player who can play various positions. A dream move to the Santiago Bernabeu may well be on the cards for the Portuguese. However, Manchester City are likely to demand a hefty fee for his transfer.
On the other hand, City want to extend their alliance with Bernardo Silva and are ready to offer him an extension. Bernardo Silva had grown homesick last season and wanted a move to familiar conditions. However, his commitment to the club has never been under question. Due to his loyalty, Pep wants the club to reward him with a new contract and extend his stay at the Ethiad.
His contract runs till 2025 with Manchester City and unless someone dishes out a heft fee, Silva is likely to remain at Manchester City for the coming years. Bale and Isco are likely to be offloaded in the summer. Madrid will want more depth and are likely to jump the gun to sign a talented player like Bernardo Silva.
