Bernardo Silva doesn’t look like he is leaving Manchester City anytime soon. Pep Guardiola, the club’s manager clears the air on his Barcelona transfer talks.

During his 5-year time with Manchester City, the Portuguese midfielder has won 11 titles, including 4 English Championships.

Guardiola on Bernardo Silva

Guardiola and Barca president, Joan Laporta addressed questions after the announcement, as the press was eager to quiz both men on reports tying Bernardo Silva to Barcelona.

“Right now I think Bernardo will continue with us. Our goal, as a club, is for him to stay with us, but I have always said I don’t want players that don’t want to be with us. But Bernardo is important and I think he will stay. It’s true he could be with Barca, I don’t know what will happen.”

Guardiola told the press.

The English club has also made statements to the press regarding new signings. Apart from Erling Haaland whom they signed from Borussia Dortmund, there are two more players who the club is targeting.

Should Silva leave England?

The blue part of Manchester has been dominating the Premier League for the past 5 years. Manchester City boasts a total of 6 EPL titles. And having won 4 of them in the last 5 years, they have an impeccable legacy behind them.

There’s no doubt City is one of the richest and best clubs in Europe and leaving aside as such would be regretful. But on the other hand, a Champions League aspirer like Bernardo Silva would consider leaving the club. Manchester City has no UCL titles in its trophy cabinet which is a sad thing for the players.

Barcelona on the other hand has seen days when it dominated Europe. The Catalan kings have 5 Champions League titles in their cabinet. As a matter of fact, they won 4 of those in the span of 9 years. This side has always been a dream club for many players and Bernardo Silva for sure is one of them.
