Arsenal and Liverpool are both keen to sign Hugo Larsson from Frankfurt. But now they have been hit hard in the youngster’s pursuit. It is due to decision from German giants which will result in Premier League giants falling behind in securing the midfielder’s services.
Larsson is only 20 years old but is already running the show of Frankfurt. He can play as a central midfielder or as a holding midfielder. This season he has played 15 matches and has been able to score 3 goals along with picking 1 assist.
Arsenal and Liverpool both keen to sign Hugo Larsson
Both of the Premier League giants are keen to sign Larsson. Both clubs want to improve their midfield. The Sweden international has emerged as a common target due to his superb qualities.
Gunners want to find proper and long-term replacements for Jorginho and Thomas Partey. The Arsenal duo is in their final years of contract and are very like to depart at the end of season. Larsson can be looked upon as a very long-term solution due to his young age.
As for Liverpool, they are planning to replace Endo who has failed to impress. The Japnese player is 31 years old and is very likely to get sold at the end of this season. Despite the interest from top clubs, Frankfurt seem unfazed and will make it hard for any of these clubs to sign Larsson.
Frankfurt unwilling to sell Larsson
According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Frankfurt are unwilling to sell Hugo Larsson just yet. They have a contract with Sweden international until 2029 and it does not include release clause. This will make the German club’s stance very hard in keeping the hold of 20 year old.
Larsson too is feeling great at Germany right now. Playing in Premier League can seem exciting but it comes with high competition. The midfielder may not get enough game time just yet and hence may opt to stay at Frankfurt where he is now a regular starter.
