Blues should improve one position instead of going for striker

Chelsea should go all out to sign a top class goalkeeper like Diogo Costa next year. The club should make keeper their top priority above striker or any other attacking positions.

There are reports of Chelsea making moves for attackers in the next year. The Blues already have a great squad and lot of attacking power. But, they are still keen to improve even when their attack is really good.

Chelsea have been able to score regularly and it can be seen clearly that their main problem lies at the back. The Blues are unable to keep clean sheets and this has costed Enzo Maresca despite starting on a very high note.

The lacking from defensive line was once again seen against Manchester United. In addition, it was once again Chelsea keeper that was directly at fault. He took out Rasmus Hojlund conceding a penalty.

Bruno Fernandez made no error and was able to put United in front. It was only because of Moises Caicedo, who’s superb volley helped Chelsea earn atleast one point. But, this has to stop and the Blues have to find a proper keeper who can make the difference.

Chelsea need to sign Diogo Costa

Recently, Diogo Costa has been linked with the Blues and as per CaughtOffside, he will cost around €70 million. Porto are unwilling to sell Costa and hence, the only way Chelsea can sign him is by spending big amount.

This summer, Chelsea have already signed two young keepers. They paid £17 million for Mike Penders whereas paid £21 million for Filip Jorgensen. This suggests that they may pay €70 million for Costa who will surely be an upgrade on any of the current Chelsea keepers.

Diogo Costa is having a very good season right now. In the 10 league games he has conceded only 4 goals and has been able to keep 7 clean sheets. He has made 17 saves with a superb 81% accuracy. Chelsea should definately go for him if they want to compete for the Premier League title.
