Borussia Dortmund have joined the race to highly exit lined Arsenal star. The player has fallen down the pecking order is is very likely to move away from North London this month. Along with Dortmund, two other clubs are also interested.
The star in question is Oleksandr Zinchenko who joined Gunners in 2022. He had an excellent first season where he was regular starter. However, last season he lost his spot and didn’t start regularly. This season, the situation has worsened.
After the arrival of Riccardo Calafiori, the Ukrainian has been playing very less. He has played only 11 games in all competitions and has started in only 3 of those. Gunners are open to part ways with him this month and have already received offers.
Firstly, Inter Milan were said to be preparing a bid to sign the 28 year old. Inter were also linked with Jakub Kiwior who is open to move away from North London. Later, Turkish club Fenerbahce joined the race.
Borussia Dortmund join the race to sign Zinchenko
Florian Plettenberg has reported that Dortmund have joined the race to sign the 28 year old. He said that talks have already taken place in past days and still are ongoing. He also said that Zinchenko is keen to move away from the Emirates.
Plettenberg then reported that Arsenal are open to let the 28 year old leave on loan with an obligation to buy of around €20 million. Lastly, he said that Dortmund already showed interest in Zinchenko last summer.
Arsenal are expected to be fine without Zinchenko. They have a great defensive squad depth. Along with Calafiori, they have Timber, Kiwior and Tomiyasu who can all play as left back. They can use the profit earned from the move to bolster their attack which is their priority this year.
