It could be another Jadon Sancho saga in the upcoming summer transfer window like it was last summer between Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund, but there should be other clubs involved this time.
Manchester United tried everything the last summer to sign the 20-year-old English winger, but Dortmund never budged from their asking price of €120 million.
According to some reports, the deal was very close to being done and it was at advanced stages but United’s proposed way of paying the price in installments for 3 or 4 years didn’t amuse Dortmund and it fell through.
This unsuccessful deal put an effect on Sancho who wanted to play in the Premier League. He didn’t look like the player he was last season and struggled to find his peak form.
Why are Dortmund willing to lower price of Sancho?
According to some reports, Dortmund suffered a loss of almost €100 million in the last season during the pandemic. Which forced the outfit of Signal Iduna Park to sell Sancho the biggest asset they have for a cheaper price than they wanted last year.
Sancho also wants to return to England and show his class in the biggest and toughest league in the world. The English winger wanted to return to Manchester but in the red half this time and it will be interesting to see what he decides for the next summer.
Manchester United haven’t given up the possibility of signing the world-class young talent yet as Ole Gunner Solskjær desperately wanted him last summer.
But they bought another highly talented young 18-year-old Ivory Coast winger Amad Diallo and they need a centre-back more than Sancho at the moment. It might not make much sense if United decide to go for Sancho who might cost huge even though Dortmund may lower the price.
Chelsea and Liverpool two other English clubs are monitoring the situation of Jadon Sancho as well as Bayern Munich and Barcelona who also want to sign the forward. But it will be hard for Bayern and Barcelona to sign him.
It will be a fascinating summer transfer window to sign Sancho in this bad situation of clubs during the pandemic and also other notable players are also in contention for transfer in this window.
