Bournemouth are the latest addition to the long list of potential suitors of Chelsea star. The star in question is young and extremely versatile.
The Blues have a very vast squad depth which has resulted in some of their stars receiving very less game time. Hence, the less used stars are unhappy and keen to leave the club this month.
One of the exit linked stars Renato Veiga. Chelsea signed Veiga only in summer for £12 million. However, the 21 year old has not been able to earn his spot as regular starter. He has played only 177 minuted in Premier League so far.
Veiga is part of Chelsea’s B team prepared by Maresca to play in domestic cups and Conference League. This has made the 21 year old ready to move away from West London on loan. As of now, many clubs are showing interest in him.
Bournemouth join the race to sign Renato Veiga
According to Mail Sport, Bournemouth have shown interest to sign Veiga this month. However, they will not be able to sign the 21 year old on loan as they already have another Chelsea star – Kepa on loan.
Along with Bournemouth, Serie A sides – Napoli and Juventus are also showing interest in Veiga. In addition, Stuttgart too have joined the race recently. This suggests that the 21 year old is popular topic in this month’s transfer window.
Despite the interest from this many clubs, Chelsea are keen to keep Veiga with them. Both Enzo Maresca and the club are big admirers of the Portugese defender and rate him very highly.
Veiga is highly versatile and can play anywhere in defence. He can also play as midfielder but currently is being used as left back. Ben Chilwell is very likely to move awah this month which means Veiga will be the only backup for Marc Cucurella.
