AFC Bournemouth has come in for Barcelona’s backup goalkeeper Neto Murara. The English side have reportedly been looking for a top goalkeeper for a long time. With Neto having no future at Barca, the Brazilian has made his mind switch from Camp Nou. Both Barcelona and Neto have been looking at potential options. Staying at Camp Nou is not a priority for Neto now.
Neto joined Barcelona from Valencia in 2019, with Cillessen moving the other way. The Brazilian was always aware of the role he had to play at the club. But in the 3 years spent at Barca, Neto has only made 21 appearances for the Catalans, with Ter Stegen being the number one. The German has had a drop in his form, but then also Neto never really got the chance to stake a claim.
Fulham were also interested in signing Neto but they managed to get Bernd Leno from Arsenal. It is Bournemouth now who are doing all they can to get Neto. Inaki Pena is already decided to be the backup for Ter Stegen. Furthermore, Barcelona are trying to offload the deadwood from the club to make room for the new signings that have been made. The signings still need to be registered and the club has to free up wages before they can do so.
Barcelona 2022/23 looks set to dominate
It is no surprise that Barcelona, apart from whatever they have gone through, will still be the favorites for the major titles. The club lost the best player of all time last season in terrible circumstances. And since then, they have signed 4-5 attackers to replace him. Lewandowski, Dembele, Fati, Torres, Depay, Raphinha, and Aubameyang are the 7 attackers that the club has currently got.
The Midfield also looks sorted with the likes of Pedri, Kessie, Gavi, Busquets, and Nico. Frenkie De Jong’s future is still unclear and Miralem Pjanic looks set to stay and fight for a place. But unlike other seasons, Barcelona’s defense looks brilliant this season as they added the likes of Christensen and Kounde to it. Marcos Alonso is also expected to arrive in the coming days. The Barcelona 2022/23 does look scary. But only time will tell if they can reciprocate this fear on the pitch!
