Carlo Ancelotti recently made an explicit statement of his commitment to staying at Real Madrid beyond the current season. However, the Brazil national team remains persistent in their pursuit of him as their next manager.

Publicly, Brazil Football Confederation (CBF) president Ednaldo Rodrigues openly expressed that Carlo Ancelotti is their primary choice to assume the managerial role after the departure of Tite. Tite was relieved of his duties following the disappointing performance of the Selecao in the World Cup.

However, speculations circulated suggesting that Carlo Ancelotti’s position could be in jeopardy. If he failed to secure significant titles during this season. Unfortunately for him, Real Madrid lost the La Liga title to Barcelona. In addition, they faced elimination in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals at the hands of Manchester City.

Despite the setbacks, Carlo Ancelotti firmly asserted his intention to continue as the head coach of the club for the upcoming season. He further disclosed that he received confirmation of his position from the club president, Florentino Perez.

Can Brazil make Carlo Ancelotti as their next manager?

According to Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, Brazil remains determined in their pursuit of Carlo Ancelotti as their next manager. Despite Ancelotti’s commitment to Real Madrid, the Brazilian national team is reportedly preparing a final attempt to convince him to leave the Spanish club and join their ranks.

The Brazil national team surpassed five months without officially appointing a new manager. Thus, leading to U-20 coach Ramon Menezes taking temporary charge of the senior team. Menezes previously led the first team in a friendly match in March. Now, he has to continue in this role when the national team returns to action next month.

As the World Cup 2026 qualifiers are to commence in September, Brazil ideally aims to secure a managerial appointment well in advance. However, despite the persistent interest from the Brazil Football Confederation (CBF) in Carlo Ancelotti, reaching an agreement currently seems unfeasible.
