Bruno Fernandes’ reaction on Instagram speaks volumes on how Man Utd feel about former player Jadon Sancho.
Jadon Sancho made a late switch to Chelsea from Manchester United on deadline day. The deal is initially on a loan basis but Chelsea have an obligatory buy clause worth 25 million pounds. The English man had a torrid time at Old Trafford since moving there in 2021. Recent comments from Man Utd captain on a recent social media post of Sancho has sparked conversation. It reflected the attitude of the United squad towards their ex-temmate Jadon Sancho. His current manager has fallen in love with the 24 year old winger who put out a man of the match performance on his debut for Chelsea.
CITY TO UNITED
A graduate of the Man City academy and ended up at bitter rivals Man Utd and now at Chelsea. So how did this all pan out. Jadon Sancho excelled through the academy of Manchester City. Known for his birlliant dribbling skills and artistic crossing skills he moved to german giants Borussia Dortmund hungry for first team action.
And well he got what he wanted. Intially made debut with the reserve team but swiftly entered the first team. Like De Bruyne and Haaland, the major source of chances for the Norwegian at Dortmund was Sancho. The Englishman recorded 15+ assists and 15+ goals in the 2019/20 Bundesliga season. Which is still regarded as the most prolific season of his career till now. These excellent performances and call ups to the England National team attarcted multiple suitors for Sancho. Man Utd were the front runners from the begining and got their man in the summer fo 2021.
Sancho arrived at Old Trafford for 73 million pounds making it the second highest transfer fee paid for an English man then. Anyway a highly anticpated move by Red Devils fans from all over the world turned into a disaster. Actually it started well for Sancho making consistent impact on the pitch under Ole Gunnar Solskjear. But the season ended in a dissapointing fashion for Man Utd, Ole was sacked and new man Erik Ten Hag came in. Thus beginning the nightmare days for Sancho. Ten Hag was highly vocal about the lack of enthusiasm of the englishman in training and snubbed him from the team.
Sancho on the other hand cam out publicly calling the dutch manager a liar and denying all the claims made by Ten Hag. The winger was then banished from the squad later sent on loan to Dortmund where he found some confidence. Proving influencial for Dortmund in their Champions League final run.
MOVE TO CHELSEA
Reports had arrived at the begining of the campaign that the Sancho and Ten Hag had reconciled and found parity between themselves. It gave some hopes of Sancho playing regularly this season but after being out from the first two matches he made a deadline day switch to Chelsea. He joined on loan with an obligation to buy for 25 million pounds. Sancho made his debut against Bournemouth on Saturday coming on as a second half substitute and setting up fellow subsitute Cristopher Nkunku. Not only that, Sancho bought something more to that Chelsea team. Wriggling past the Bournemouth players and delivering inch perfect passes improved the Blues attack.
Enzo Maresca was full of praises for the Ex Man Utd man and it’s clear he has fallen in love with the player. “I have the feeling that Jadon is a guy that needs to feel love,” manager said as per The Standard.
BRUNO FERNANDES COMMENTS ON JADON SANCHO
Jadon Sancho, after his MOTM perfromance against Bournemouth took to Instagram for celebrating his debut. He went with a post with a caption ‘Delighted to make my Chelsea debut and top it off witha win’. So guess who commented on the post? His former teammate and the current Man Utd captain Bruno Fernandes. This seemed unlikely considering how disastrous his time at Old Trafford was. Bruno went on to comment “Some player (fire symbol) keep that smile”. This hints at the fact that there is sentiment left between the duo despite leaving the club on a bad note.
These comments just makes us question the fact that, after all was Sancho the real problem or the Ten Hag’s attitude? Anyway we will know as the season progresses.
