Barcelona Captain Sergio Busquets has hailed his current manager Xavi quoting “We are a much more complete team”. He has been talking about how his squad has improved since Xavi took over and how he is looking forward to Sunday’s Classico versus Real Madrid.

Both sides will be in strong form heading into the game, with Barcelona looking to end a five-match losing record versus Real Madrid.

Xavi Barcelona Signings

Xavi’s January signings of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Ferran Torres along Adama Traore have paid him well with the players rediscovering their form in their new colors. Moreover, bursting onto the scene of the academy players like Gavi and Pedri is one of the major reasons for their current successful run.

There are signs that something spectacular is taking shape, signs that go beyond Barca’s current impressive run of victories, which has seen them climb to third place in La Liga, just five points behind Sevilla and with a game in hand.

Busquets on Xavi

Meanwhile, Busquets praised Xavi saying:

“Everything is different. The self-esteem, the state of mind, the confidence. A new coach has arrived and has made many changes. Xavi introduced the philosophy that he had maintained for many years

We are a much more complete team, we do many more things well and we are more of a team after all. It is clear that we still have a long way to go, but this is the way.”

Moreover, Club President Laporta also had his say on Xavi’s techniques and discipline.

He said:
“Xavi has changed the team mentality, improved the individual players and recuperated the very essence of the Barcelona football philosophy”.

Barcelona who is on 12 games winning streak will play their biggest rivals Real Madrid on Sunday in Santiago Bernabeau. This will definitely be a tough test for Barcelona. However, Xavi as the hosts are unbeaten in the league since January.

It’s a stretch to assume that the Xavi effect would ensure a return to winning ways on the Weekend. Although the odds favor Madrid, Xavi’s squad will definitely fight.
