Can Messi play for Arsenal in the Premier League?

PSG

It is interesting to imagine such a scenario. Lionel Messi in the Arsenal red and white colors! It would be a beautiful sight. Isn’t it?

Arsenal can make an offer to Messi

Lionel Messi has played in the Champions League, La Liga, and Ligue 1 but never in the Premier League. It would be great to have him in either of the top English clubs. Premier League is the toughest football league out there. So, it is imperative that Messi must be playing in it.

The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain is going to expire by next year. It is possible that he may return to Barcelona but Arsenal can play spoilsport. The Gunners can buy Messi for a hefty price.

Also, after a long time, we may be seeing the rivalry between Ronaldo and Messi igniting once again. Cristiano Ronaldo for the Red Devils and Lionel Messi for the Gunners.

A mercurial forward line

Messi still possesses the magic touch at the sublime age of 36. He is scoring goals, and even if he returned to form at PSG a little later than expected, he has done so and is back to his best, though not quite at the level he established while playing for Barcelona. But he still has a lot to offer, and his passion for the game of football cannot be disputed. And if one is passionate about his work, exciting performances can churn out quite easily.

With Martinelli, Jesus, Smith-Rowe, and Saka, Arsenal already has a formidable forward line. With the Argentine legend’s entry at the Emirates Stadium, the Gunners would be unbeatable.

Arsenal has won the FA Cup recently. But there has been no addition of important trophies to its Trophy Cabinet. The Champions League title has alluded to it. It has also failed to win the Premier League title. Even worse, the Gunners have failed to finish in the top four in the past few seasons.

Messi has the experience to win coveted trophies at that level. His entry can increase Arsenal’s chances to win a few.
