Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United post-match analysis:

It was an extremely tactical battle in the first half. Neither side managed to create any opening; both teams were poor in the final third and ran out of ideas.

Chelsea tried to play out from the back and Manchester United pressed higher up the field but United’s pressing wasn’t efficient enough and they didn’t press as a whole team. The result of that Chelsea beat the United press every time.

The biggest chance of the half fell for Chelsea from a supercross of Callum Hudson-Odoi but Giroud could not reach the ball and it went wide. Straightway Chelsea got a glorious opportunity to break the deadlock, initially, Ziyech’s shot was brilliantly saved by David De Gea and then Shaw blocked the shot of substitute Reece James.

Manchester United had a chance to score but Edouard Mendy saved the effort of McTominey.

Notable Performances:

Edouard Mendy(GK) – (7/10)(Liverpool): Didn’t require a lot to work but when he was needed he saved a few shots very well.

David De Gea(GK) – (7/10)Manchester United): He was not that busy but saved brilliantly the Ziyech attempt to earn a point for his team.

Hakim Ziyech(RW) – (5.5/10)(Chelsea): Wasn’t as influential at all as he should have been. He was better in the second half.

Chelsea will encounter the challenge of Liverpool at Anfield on 4th March in the Premier League and Manchester United’s next game is away to Crystal Palace on 3rd March in the league.
