Leicester City 2-0 Chelsea post-match analysis:

Leicester got the lead straightway after the start of the game from a corner and a brilliant shot from Ndidi from just outside the box and of the post into the back of the net.

Brendan Rodgers‘ side looked more threatening going forward and they got another opportunity but Maddison’s shot of his left foot from a pretty similar distance hit the crossbar and went wide.

Chelsea thought they got a penalty after referee Craig Pawson pointed towards the penalty spot of a Jonny Evans foul on Christian Pulisic but VAR showed that it was outside the box and given as a free-kick.

On the 41st minute mark, Leicester got the second from a long ball from Marc Albrighton which put Chelsea defence all over the place and Maddison finished it off brilliantly.

In the second half, neither side managed to score goals but both teams found the back of the net, but VAR disallowed the goals for offside. Timo Werner thought he finished the goal drought but it didn’t happen.

Leicester should have scored at least two more goals but the lack of clinical finishing didn’t help the Rodgers’ side.

Chelsea had the most of the possession but they never looked threatening in front of the goal but when Leicester went forward they looked devastating.

Notable performances:

James Maddison(CAM) – (7.5/10)(Leicester City): Dominated in the midfield and caused huge trouble for Chelsea also scored a brilliant goal.

Wesley Fofana(CB) – (7.5/10)(Leicester City): Played an outstanding game and defended heroically in a few occasions. The 20-year-old could be a big thing in world football.

Kai Havertz(CAM) – (5.5/10)(Chelsea): He was completely anonymous in the first half but looked better in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to help Chelsea.
