Tottenham Hotspur suffered a 0-1 defeat at home to neighbours Chelsea in the Premier League fixture. Jorginho converted a penalty after a rock-solid defensive display from the Blues.

However, newly appointed Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has revived the London side winning two and drawing one with three clean sheets in a row!

Hugo Lloris (6.5/10) – One of the key players in the match who reduced the extent of damage to his team. Additionally, he brilliantly disallowed Timo Werner after a fine header.

Serge Aurier (6/10) – A key defender who was fighting till the very end but still could not find the breakthrough.

Toby Alderweireld (6/10) – He performed well whenever needed. However, his side were on the losing side.

Eric Dier (4.5/10) – Dier wasn’t focused while defending. Also, an unnecessary tackle on Werner and thus, conceded a penalty.

Ben Davies (5/10) – Davies wasn’t tested much but was able to defend decently.

Moussa Sissoko (6/10) – Sissoko struggled in keeping the possession and creating chances. Hence, a disappointing performance from him.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (5.5/10) – He wasn’t at his best form as he couldn’t stop Chelsea attacks.

Steven Bergwijn (6/10) – He was also lacking the quality for this match as he was substituted in the 68th minute.

Tanguy Ndombele (5/10) -Ndombele was clearly lacking the creativity although he showed some glimpses of brilliance.

Son Heung-min (4.5/10) – He couldn’t lead the attack as the absence of Harry Kane is really affecting the team.

Carlos Vinicius (5/10) – A tough debut in the Premier league. Also, he wasn’t up to the mark and lacked the cutting edge.

Substitutes Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura could not find the target and were not impressive. However, the former sparked some brilliant play that was deja vu of his performance in a 1-1 draw against the Blues in the EFL Cup.

Chelsea ratings:

Edouard Mendy (7/10) – A brilliant performance from him keeping all the Lilywhites attackers at bay.

Cesar Azpilicueta (6/10) – Leading the 3-man defence, he played his new role perfectly. However, the defence wasn’t tested much.

Thiago Silva (6/10) – Picked up an injury although being not tested much. However, he was very much focused and disciplined with his new role.

Antonio Rudiger (6/10) – He played his third match in a row. However, the performances are impressive as he is developing into a giant Rock in front of opponents!

Jorginho (8/10) – He performed his duty of converting the penalty calm and cool as you like! The inspiration of attack and he was linking very well with the team. As a result, he deserves to be the Man of the Match.

Reece James (7/10) – James got a different role to play but still, he impressed. However, he was the main man delivering some wonderful crosses and passes.

Mateo Kovacic (7.5/10)- Another regular in the Blues’ recent three fixtures. He is the main work engine in Tuchel’s new system.

Marcos Alonso (6.5/10) – He was performing mostly better in the defensive department. However, it seems he would be a crucial part of Chelsea’s new face team.

Callum Hudson-Odoi (7/10) – He was full on energy and was again impressive. However, in a new role, it looks

Mason Mount (6/10) – He was busy creating some brilliant opportunities upfront. However, it’s a challenging position for him as an attacker.

Timo Werner (6.5/10) – He was looking better today however, couldn’t find the target.

Substitutes Andreas Christensen, Christian Pulisic and N’Golo Kante couldn’t create an instant impact. However, they were decent in their playing time. However, Kante deserved more playing time after coming from an injury.

Tottenham next host West Bromwich Albion on Sunday as Chelsea travel to Sheffield United on same day at the night in the Premier League.
