AC Milan adds Dele Alli to the long list of possible No.10

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

AC Milan are looking to sign Dele Alli from Tottenham Hotspurs. One of the youngest players in the England Squad at the 2018 World Cup, Dele failed to make it into the Euro squad that went all the way into the finals. AC Milan are desperate to sign a No.10 after Hakan Calhanoglu left for Inter Milan.

Dele had a very terrible season last year. He failed to make an impact on the pitch and slowly slid down the ranks. Injuries came to worsen the situation. In the Premier League, he grabbed a single assist in 25 appearances. However, he did manage to get 3 goals in the Europa League.

AC Milan were close to winning the Serie A title after a very long time. However, injuries caused havoc and ruined a really good start. The lack of squad depth was a glaring problem and the Rossoneris are all out to fill it up. They plan to make at least 6-7 major transfers this window apart from extending loans.

Dele needs to boost his career

Life at Tottenham is not going to be the same. Christian Eriksen left the club last season leaving a big void to fill. Gareth Bale will not be at Tottenham next season and Harry Kane is most likely set to make a move. Jose Mourinho has become the manager AS Roma and after his first training session, he informed 8 players that they were free to leave the club. He could sign his former player.

“Sir Alex Ferguson gave me only one bit of advice in two and a half years (at Manchester United) : Buy Dele Alli. That guy, with that mentality, the way he plays, the aggression he has in mind. This guy is the Manchester United player. Buy Dele Alli’.”- Jose Mourinho

Milan can be a saviour to Dele

Isco, Mikkel Damsgaard, Sabitzer, Hakim Ziyech, Luis Alberto are a few others Milan are keeping a tab on. Tottenham are ready for a move but only on loan. He is England’s youngest goal-scorer at the World Cup after Micheal Owen and can claw his way back into the squad. Jesse Lingard too had a terrible season until a loan move to West Ham almost got him to the squad for the Euros. It’s never too late.
