Chelsea are amongst the top 5 clubs that are planning to sign one Liverpool star at the end of the season. The star is playing a huge role for the Reds but can very likely move away in the summer window.
The star in question here is Caoimhin Kelleher. He is one of the best second choice keepers in the world right now. Kelleher has displayed his highest quality in order to become the regular keeper after Allison moves away from Liverpool.
But, it seems that he will not achieve that anytime soon at Anfield. The Reds have already signed Mamardashvili who will join the club in summer and take the place as first choice keeper after Allison.
Kelleher will turn 27 years old this year and hence is keen to play regularly. Hence, he may opt to move away from Reds this summer and already has multiple clubs interested in him.
Chelsea and 4 others keen to sign Kelleher this summer
TBR Football have reported that Caoimhin Kelleher is being looked upon by Chelsea, Bournemouth, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest. Infact, Forest were even keen to sign him in summer but Liverpool rejected the offer back then.
Chelsea are very likely to replace Robert Sanchez after this season. The Spanish keeper has failed to impress the Blues and Enzo Maresca may opt to part ways with him this summer. Kelleher can be a very good addition to the squad considering his quality and experience.
Kelleher played 26 games last season as Allison was injured multiple times. He has played 16 games this season too. Out of these 16, eight games have came from Premier League. Kelleher was able to keep 3 clean sheets in those along with 24 saves.
Kelleher has played a major role in Liverpool’s latest success. It will be hard for the Reds to replace him. However, they may still be forced to move on from him if the player himself forces the move.
