- Chelsea and Liverpool are interested to sign Andrija Maksimovic
- Maksimovic is only 17 years old but has proved his worth on highest stage
- Interested clubs could be seen making a move in January itself
Andrija Maksimovic is Serbian footballer who plays for Red Star Belgrade. He is already their regulat starter despite being only 17 years old. He is being compared with Lionel Messi for his superb qualities on the pitch.
Maksimovic plays as an attacking midfielder. He is a technically gifted playmaker who can also operate in the wide areas. The player has already proved his worth in Champions League which is the highest stage in club football.
Chelsea and Liverpool to battle out for Maksimovic
As per TEAMtalk, both Chelsea and Liverpool are interested to sign the Serbian talent. They both have sent scouts to moniter the player in action. It is expected that more clubs will join the race very soon.
Chelsea have developed a system of signing players when they are very young. They sign players when they are less known and develop them into world class talents. Maksimovic fits perfectly into this system.
On the other hand, the Reds too are keen to secure their future for long time. The 17 year old can develop into regulat starter at Anfield with proper guidance.
Red Star Belgrade have no intention to sell the star but they will find it hard to reject offers from the top clubs. The interested clubs can easily convince the player to join them as playing in Premier League could excite any young player.
The 17 year old has his current contract with Red Star running until 2027. Hence, Red Star will demand a high transfer fee for him. It will be interesting to see if any of Chelsea or Liverpool come up with a bid this January to secure the player’s signature.
