Chelsea and Liverpool are now leading the race to sign Florian Wirtz as per the latest reports. The German wonderkid is very talented and highly rate in world football right now. He is just 21 years old and can cost around €150 million.
Florian Wirtz is now one of the best young players in the world. He helped Bayern Leverkusen to win their first ever Bundesliga title last season. Wirtz scored 18 goals and picked 19 assists in 49 games last season.
He then earned his place as a regular starter for Germany in Euro 2024. Wirtz has once again started this season on a high note and is doing well in both German league and UCL.
Bayer Leverkusen view him as a key player but Wirtz can be seen making a move in near future. But it will require a huge amount of money as Leverkusen are demanding around €150 million for him.

Wirtz has been linked with many if the top clubs recently. He was linked with Real Madrid who are always keen to add young stars to their squad. It was also said that Wirtz has already picked his next club and it is going to be Bayern Munich.
But now a report from Fichajes says otherwise. The report claims that Chelsea and Liverpool now have upper hand in signing the German wonderkid. It is because the both clubs have made a contact with player’s entourage.
The Blues have created a new system of signing young players and preparing them for future. Wirtz fits their ideology as he is just 21 years old and will enter the prime of his career. But, the only issue is wheter Chelsea are prepared to spend such a heavy fee when they already have a huge squad depth.
As for Liverpool, they are looking for a long-term replacement of Mohamed Salah. Salah is in his final year of contract and as of now there are no news about extension. Wirtz looks like a player who can possible replace the Egypt international and become a bright face of Liverpool’s future.
