Chelsea and Man United have now taken lead to sign Viktor Gyokeres. Gyokeres has been in superb form and is looked upon by top clubs across whole Europe. He has €100 million release clause but Sporting may now sell him on discounted price.
Viktor Gyokeres has been in the best form of his career since last year. He made a move from England to Portugal and goals have followed him. Not only in Portugese league, but the 26 year old has destroyed teams in UCL with Man City being the latest club to witness his brilliance.
Gyokeres has now scored 23 goals along with picking 4 assists in just 17 games this season. He has been looked upon by top clubs and the striker is also ready to move. Infact, Gyokeres wanted bigger challenges this summer itself but his €100 million release clause proved just too much.
Now as per The Telegraph, Sporting may let him leave for around €75 million. This looks like a bargain right now considering the form the 26 year old is in. Arsenal have constantly linked with Gyokeres but now two other Premier League giants are said to have lead in his pursuit.
Chelsea and Man United have lead in the pursuit of Viktor Gyokeres
As per the Daily star, Chelsea and United are ahead in the race to sign Sporting striker. This deal will surely be an upgrade over the current strikers of any of these clubs. But, it may also go wrong due to some key factors about both of the interested clubs.
Nicolas Jackson is doing really well this season. But, Chelsea are still keen to sign another striker. Gyokeres will surely view moving to Chelsea as a big deal as he always wanted to play at highest level.
While, this deal may complete his dreams, Gyokeres also has to be carefull about two things. One is that Chelsea board is highly impatient and changing managers which may hamper player’s development. Second is squad depth which may force Gyokeres to sit on bench.
As for United, they have already signed the striker’s coach Ruben Amorim. Amorim played a huge part in transforming Gyokeres and can also play a huge part in bringing him at the Old Trafford. The only thing to worry while joining United is that recently many players have failed to deliver since joining them.
As the time passes, Gyokeres will get many more offers from many more clubs. In the end, he will have to decide which is the best project for him. As of now, he should focus on scoring as much as possible and helping Sporting CP.
