Chelsea are still trying to sign Jadon Sancho on the deadline day. Sancho is set to leave Manchester United for good this summer. Despite signings many attacking players this summer, Todd Boehly wants to improve his squad even further. Chelsea are ready to part ways with Jadon Sancho this summer. The Blues see Sancho as the potential replacement for Sterling. It may come as a surprise as Chelsea have already signed Pedro Neto and Joao Felix who play on the wing.
The Blues have made 12 new signings this summer. Many believed that they would go easy this summer due to being on the radar to breach PSR rules. However, it did not seem to affect Todd Boehly and co. They can be seen even more signings in the last minutes of the transfer window. Currently, Jadon Sancho has emerged as their top target after losing on Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney.
Chelsea come up with new plan to sign Sancho
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has made it clear that he will not use Raheem Sterling this summer. Hence, Sterling has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer. Earlier, he was offered to Manchester United as a swap deal in return of Jadon Sancho. However, that deal seems to be off now. According to The Chelsea Chronicle, Blues are now in talks with Arsenal over the potential sale of Sterling. Gunners need to find a backup winger for Bukayo Saka. Despite, Sterling being a proper left winger he can adapt on the right flank as well.
If the sale of Sterling is registered, Chelsea will be able to go all out for Sancho. However, they have to speed up their process as we are in dying hours of transfer window. Except Chelsea, Juventus are still interested to sign Sancho. Federico Chiesa has left Juventus and joined Liverpool. Juventus will like to replace Chiesa with Sancho, but United have kept their deal pending. Sancho will like to move away from Old Trafford as he is very unlikely to receive proper gametime. We can expect his saga to get interesting in the coming hours.
