Chelsea benefiting from Arsenal’s loss of interest

Arsenal were interested to sign Chelsea star Pedro Neto earlier. But their interest seemed to cool off and the Portugese joined Blues instead. He has been doing really well and has even haunted Gunners recently as well.

Chelsea signed Pedro Neto this summer for €60 million from Wolves. He is doing really well and has now starting the games regularly too. Neto has 3 goals and 3 assists this season across all competitions.

Recently, Neto has been used as a left winger in place of Jadon Sancho. He is mainly a right winger but his versatility has made him a key asset at Stanford Bridge.

While Chelsea have struck gold with the deal, the recent reports suggest that he could have joined another london club instead of Chelsea. It seems like Arsenal were keen to sign the 24 year old but later changed their decision.

Arsenal were keen to sign Pedro Neto

As per CaughtOffside, Gunners were keen to sign Neto from long time. They even made approach to sign him in past years but Wolves were not ready to part ways. But when Wolves were prepared to sell Neto, Gunners had already changed their mind.

Infact, Arsenal did not even make any attempt to sign the Portugese this summer. It worked out very well for Chelsea who are known for making bold moves in market. Now it seems like Arsenal’s loss has became Chelsea’s gain for sure.

Neto was the best player on the pitch against Gunners recently. He scored his first Premier League for Chelsea and it was a superb one. It only took 2 minutes for Neto to make the difference when he was shifted at his preferred right wing position.

Arsenal may now regret their decision as they could have added a high quality winger. In addition, his pace could have helped Mikel Arteta to add more quality in final third. Now, Gunners have felt a need of attacking players and are expected to make some moves in january itself.
