Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has hinted about their 25 year old star’s future at Stamford Bridge. It seems like the star will be set to depart from the club at the end of the season.
The star in question here is Joao Felix who joined the Blues this summer. The West London club paid £43 million to secure the 25 year old’s signature. But, only after half season, the Portugese has moved away from Stamford Bridge.
Felix had good start to his second stint at Chelsea. He scored 7 goals and picked 2 assists in 20 games. But, he was still not the first-choice player for Enzo Maresca. He was able to start only 3 Premier League games. Stats as per FOTMOB.
Felix started most of the games in other competitions. He found himself behind other stars in the pecking order. As a result, he opted to leave in order to get more game time. The Blues agreed to let him leave to fulfill his demands.
Felix has joined AC Milan on loan until the end of the season. His deal does not contain a buy option which suggests that he might still have future with Chelsea. But, Maresca’s latest comments suggest otherwise.
Chelsea boss hints about Joao Felix’s future
Maresca was once again asked questions about Joao Felix. The Italian manager is known for making bold statements and he once again did that. He was asked wheter he misses Joao Felix and his answer gave a hint about Felix’s future.
“We don’t miss Joao Felix. Joao is happy in Milan and we are happy that Joao is happy there” – Maresca when asked about Felix.
Maresca’s comments suggest that he has no regret about parting ways with Felix. This further suggests that the Blues have penalty other options and hence Felix can be sold permanently in summer. Im addition, the Blues are said to sign some new attackers which suggests that Felix’s time at Chelsea can end very soon.
