Chelsea boss opens up about current situation of club

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has recently opened up about the situation of club right now. He has spoken up about the condition of the Blues relating Premier League, domestic cups and European competitions.

Enzo Maresca took charge of the Blues in summer 2024 from Pochettino. He came after making Leicester City champions in the Championship and getting them back to the Premier League. The Italian also made a statement start to his Chelsea career.

The Blues are improved to much higher extent when compared to last season. They are on the 4th position in Premier League and have been table toppers in the Conference League. They will directly play the round of 16 matches in Conference league where they are favourites to win.

But, the Blues are still far away from winning major titles. Earlier, they were said to be in title race but it has all changes. Enzo Maresca always said that they are not in title race as he knew how hard it could be. Now, he has opened up more about the current situation.

Enzo Maresca thinks Chelsea are yet not ready

Maresca said that they are not ready to compete in 4 competitions. By 4 he meant Premier League, European Cup, FA Cup and Carabao Cup. He had more to open up about the current situation.

“In this moment, we are not ready to compete in 4 competitions. Our goal, our duty is to bring this club to win or compete in four competitions but at this moment we are not ready. Am I confident it will happen? Absolutely, in the next years” – Enzo Maresca as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

Earlier it was reported that Maresca will be backed by Chelsea board this summer. In addition, the Italian will be allowed to bring in players of his choice. It will be interesting to see how further ahead will Maresca be able to push his club.
