Chelsea boss receives praise from former England international

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has received massive praise from former England international. The Italian will feel appreciated with the kind words of one of the football greats.

Enzo Maresca took over at Chelsea in summer 2024. He joined after making Leicester City champions of Championship and promoting them back to Premier League. In his first game as Blues boss he lost but after that he bounced back very strongly.

Chelsea started winning matches regularly and spent most of this season in top four of Premier League. At one time, they were being looked upon as title contenders. But, Maresca regularly said that they are not in title race as he felt the club is not at the best.

Recently, Chelsea have been struggling as they have been hit with bad form. They have lost the top four spot and now sit on 6th position. This will result in them missing UCL once again next season. But, there are still 13 games left and the Blues can overturn the situation.

Due to the bad recent form, there have been questions about Enzo Maresca’s future at West London. The Blues have replaced many managers in the past seasons. There are doubts whether Maresca will be the next to get replaced.

Chelsea boss praised by former England international

Gleen Hoddle has praised Enzo Maresca and spoke some really nice words about him. In addition, he also commented on why the West London club has strated to struggle all of a sudden.

“Maresca has done a really good job. To have that number of players on taking over, to filter out what he had to very quickly, to do what he felt was right for the team and to keep the camp buying into what he is doing, he has done very well” – Hoddle speaking to The Athletic.

Hoddle also spoke why the Blues are struggling all of a sudden. He thinks that the West London club has been unlucky due to the injuries. But the former England international believes it is a time to see settled Chelsea side.
