The Blues are very likely to make a move for striker next year as per rumours. As per the latest news, Chelsea can now sign Viktor Gyokeres on discount next summer but may face very heavy competition.
Chelsea were very heavily linked with Victor Osimhen. They tried their best to sign him this summer only to fail in landing him. But, the Blues were not willing to give up and trying to make a move in January.
Now, Osimhen has clarified that he will not leave Galatasaray in January which has forced Chelsea to look at other options.
Viktor Gyokeres was another player that was on Chelsea’s radar. But Sporting CP were demanding his full release clause which was set at €100 million.
The Blues along with many other top clubs found it hard to trigger but now have some really good news. It seems like Gyokeres will finally be able to leave Sporting for a far lower price than his release clause.
Chelsea can sign Gyokeres on a discounted price
According to Sky Germany, Gyokeres can leave Sporting next year for €60 million to €70 million which is far low than the orginal price demanded by Portugese club. The Blues will find this news really exciting and can plan a move for him.
Nicolas Jackson is already having a really good season right now. But, the Blues are still keen to land another striker next year. They want a striker who can guarantee 20+ goals per season.
Gyokeres can certainly do that as he scored 43 goals last season. He has continued that form and has already scored 16 goals this season in just 15 matches.
Chelsea may however face huge competition from other English clubs. First club is Arsenal who are desperate to sign a striker. They are willing to spend big to sign a clinical striker in order to boost their front line.
Ruben Amorim who is the current coach of Sporting is very likely to join Man United who just sacked Erik Ten Hag. Amorim may demand United to sign Gyokeres despite the Red Devils already having two young strikers at the club. Along with these three clubs, many other top sides will join the race very soon for sure.
