Chelsea confident to sign their top defensive target in summer

Chelsea are surely going to sign atleast 2 new defenders this summer. They have multiple players on their radar. The Blues are confident to sign one of the best Premier League defenders this summer.

Chelsea are in desperate need of defenders this summer. They want to sign atleast 2 top defenders. Enzo Maresca has not been impressed with the quality of current defenders. As of now, Chalobah and Disasi are very likely to get sold in summer. In addition, Benoit Badiashile may join them on the exit route.

The Blues will welcome some new defender and are already been linked with various names. Earlier, they made an attempt to sign Murillo but it was rejected by Nottingham Forest. It was on the deadline day of January window.

Chelsea are also showing interest in Dean Huijsen who fits perfectly in their policy of hiring young players. In addition, they have been long-term admirers of Tomas Araujo. However, their top priority for the summer has been their academy graduate Marc Guehi who captains Crystal Palace.

Guehi has been one of the best defenders in Premier League. He is also a regular starter for England national team. In addition, he is only 24 years old and has plenty more years to offer at the highest level.

Chelsea have been long-term admirers of Marc Guehi. They tried to sign him in January too but failed at that time. This forced them to call bach Chalobah from loan. Despite failing in January, The Sun have reported that the Blues are confident to sign Guehi in summer.

Palace are very likely to part ways with Guehi this summer. The 24 year old will enter the final year of his contract and Palace will want to bag some profit instead of losing him for free. Guehi will cost low due to being in final year of contract. In addition, Chelsea have sell-on clause which will allow them to sign him on even lower fee
