Chelsea continue striker pursuit despite Jackson scoring on regular basis

Chelsea were absolutely amazing against West Ham United yesterday. They scored three goals and kept a clean sheet which helped them to move on 5th position in Premier League. Nicolas Jackson was voted as man of the match for scoring two goals and providing one assist. It looked like Chelsea will now rethink about their plans to sign a striker.

Despite Jackson scoring on regular basis this season, the recent news suggest that The Blues are still interested to sign a striker. The club has four big names in mind as of now. Chelsea were very heavily linked with one if those four names this summer. The rest three were also subject of interest in some part of the transfer window.

Who will be the next Chelsea striker

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca said that Nicolas Jackson is the current number nine and he trusts the player. He also said that he uses Christopher Nkunku sometimes in that position. Despite manager claiming that he is happy with the current options, CaughtOffside have revealed that they are still keen to sign a striker.

As per the reports, Chelsea are still in contact with Victor Osimhen’s agent. The agent is also in contact with clubs from Italy, Spain and Saudi. The Blues tried very hard to sign Osimhen this summer.

It looks like the current Chelsea striker has not been able to change the board’s mind as The Blues are linked with three more big names. They are also monitoring Ollie Watkins, Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres at the moment. Sesko has just signed a new contract with his current club.

Nicolas Jackson is doing all he can to retain his place as striker. He has scored 4 goals along with providing 2 assists in 5 league matches. Jackson was also very good last term when he enjoyed his best goalscoring season of career. He ended the 2023/24 season with 17 goals and 6 assists and was second best Chelsea scorer.
