Chelsea could be presented with chance to sign Man United star

Chelsea could be presented with a chance to sign Man United star this summer. The player is having struggles over contract situation which may pave his way to exit doors. The Blues have already been linked with the player before.

The star in question here is Kobbie Mainoo who has came up through Man United academy. He first played for senior team in 2022/23 season at the age of 17. Later, he became the regular player for the first team and has so far played 60 games in Red Devils jersey.

Mainoo has also been a regular member of England national team. He has 10 international appearances to his name and hence is rated very highly. Man United club and fans are both very happy with him but they may still lose him in summer.

Mainoo may leave United soon and Chelsea still interested to sign him

The Blues were first linked with Mainoo in the January transfer window. At that time they were also keen to sign Alejandro Garnacho but were unable to advance in any deals. The Red Devils were said open to sell due to the financial struggles at the club right now.

According to Daily Mail via CaughtOffside, Mainoo wants a pay-rise. He is demanding a salary of around £180,000 per week along with bonuses. His representatives think that Mainoo is England national team regular and Man United should pay him accordingly.

United may struggle to meet the demands of the 19 year old. Ruben Amorim is keen to keep Mainoo but may still have to part ways with him. As of now, Chelsea are still keen to sign him as midfield signing is one of their top priority for summer.

Mainoo will turn 20 years old in April and hence fits in hiring criteria of Chelsea. In addition, he can plays as both holding and central midfielder. Enzo Maresca will love to add him to the squad but it is still very early to predict anything.
