Chelsea debate over transfer moves as Nicolas Jackson continues to perform

Nicolas Jackson continues his sparkling form this season as Chelsea continue to debate over potential transfer moves.

The Senegalese forward has been in excellent form since the start of the season racking up 4 goals and 3 assists in 7 Premier League matches. Jackson alongside Cole Palmer has been the driving force of the Chelsea team who are hoping to be back among the elite sides. Enzo Maresca is really happy with the work rate the 23-year-old displays with the only concern being his ill-disciplined behavior on the pitch. Even though that is the case Chelsea board are debating over potential signing of a star striker.

NICOLAS JACKSON FORM

Jackson is the only experienced outright center forward in the Chelsea team, the other being inexperienced 18-year-old Marc Guiu. The rest of the forwards are either wingers or attacking midfielders. Enzo Maresca usually follows the 4-2-3-1 formation in which Jackson acts at the spear point of their attacks. Cole Palmer usually acts as the second in the line and makes everything work for the team. Jackson’s most impressive game of this season was against West Ham United away where he struck twice and assisted the third. The forward has been one of the best players for Chelsea and Maresca is pleased with his performances. The approximately equal share in goals and assists shows his influence in both parts of the game. Maresca has also said that at times Palmer and Jackson needed to defend for the team, and they even did that well.

“The way he works off the ball has been fantastic. He and Cole, sometimes had to defend three-on-two,” said Maresca to Chelsea official website.

In his first season at the club the Senegalese was criticized for his inconsistency in front of the goal. The 23-year-old usually missed big chances and failed to produce during big matches. Anyway, this time he has proved his doubters wrong becoming the second most influential player for Chelsea. However, despite the excellent form of Nicolas Jackson, Chelsea board are debating over the transfer for a brand-new striker.

CHELSEA DEBATE OVER TRANSFER AFTER NICOLAS JACKSON EXTENSION

Nicolas Jackson recently signed a two-year contract extension which will bound him until 2033. That is well past his prime years. Proving the Chelsea faithful right, the Senegalese forward has performed well enough since the start of the new season. Despite all this Chelsea were in search of a brand-new striker in the summer which they missed out. Anyway, debates are going on among the board members to decide whether to enter the market for a new forward.

According to reliable journalist Simon Phillips, A surprise name among the list of forwards is Liam Delap of Ipswich, formerly of Manchester City. Chelsea have a way of signing young man city products recently and Delap is one of them too. Anyway he will be the cheapest option on the list.

The other names talked about are Benjamin Sesko of Leipzig, Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting, Victor Boniface of Leverkusen, Even Ferguson of Brighton and the familiar name of Victor Osimhen. All the mentioned names are really exciting talents in Europe currently.

We have to also think about the game plan that Maresca usually plays. He wants his wingers to be quick and run past defenders before unleashing crosses into the box. With that in mind we can say that a number 9 like Osimhen, Gyokeres or any of the above will be of great use.

CHELSEA STILL IN CONTACTS FOR OSIMHEN

The debates ongoing it has also been reported that Chelsea are not completely out of the race for signing Victor Osimhen. According to sports journalist Rudy Galetti who revealed through X that Chelsea are still in direct contacts with the Nigerian forward. So a move for the 25 year old is possible.

Some sources also claim the existence of a break clause in his loan deal with Galatasaray which enables the forward to move elsewhere if a suitable offer arrives from a list of 10 clubs if they come for him as soon as in January.
