Chelsea has now cleared out their plans for their French centre-back. Benoit Badiashile now has a clear view of the club plan with him. The team is not planning an exit for the youngster in the next transfer window and has a long-term plan for the Frenchman.
Badiashile has only spent a season with the Blues but has been a clinical part of the team. The youngster made his way to Stamford Stadium from AS Monaco in January 2023 for a price tag of 35 million euros. He was nowhere close to a small signing for the team.
The French centre-back has made 35 total appearances for the club in two seasons. In these thirty-five games, 25 of them have been in the Premier League. This season has also been good for the defender as he has made 7 appearances this campaign for the Blues.
Benoit is not the first-choice centre-back in Enzo Maresca’s squad. The completion is tough for the youngster as he is faced against the likes of Wesley Fofana and Levi Colwill. The Frenchman has been impressive and has featured in cup games for Chelsea in the Carabao and League Cup.
There were initial rumours that The London Giants are looking to part ways with Badiashile. These rumours were debunked as Chelsea has no plans of releasing the centre-back. Benoit is a part of Maresca’s long plan and will soon get more playing time.
Juventus has opened the gates for Chelsea’s defender
Serie A against Juventus has opened their options for Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile. The next transfer window will decide if the youngster will make a move to the Italian club. They have shortlisted Benoit for January to replace an injured Gleison Bremer.
Badiashile is evidently not a first-choice centre-back in the eyes of Enzo Maresca. The Chelsea squad is full of first-choice defenders which has increased competition for Benoit. Badiashile has only played a total of 37 minutes in the Premier League this season.
A move to a new club and a new league might be the one thing that the youngster needs. Juventus is a big club where the youngster might get the playing time he needs. A move away to the Allianz Stadium should be good for Benoit as Juventus has an injury-struck squad.
It is important to note that Badashile is not the only centre-back that the Italian club is looking to acquire. The Sporting director of the club Cristiano Guintoli has set the target for Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior, Radu Dragusin from Tottenham Hotspur and others.
There were rumours that Badiashile was not happy with his playing minutes with Chelsea. The club has clarified that they have set a new plan for the young defender. For now, the Blues have no plans of letting go of Badiashile.
The Blues might see another busy transfer window
Chelsea were one of the busiest clubs in the last summer transfer window. They made a total of 11 signings in the summer opening. The Blues splurged close to 185 million euros in the previous window making them the most active clubs.
It seems like Chelsea has no plans to limit their spending in January. The reports state that Chelsea is looking out for new targets to strengthen their chances in the Premier League. Enzo Maresca has a new plan set for the London Giants.
The team is apparently looking to strengthen their defensive lineup. According to the Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Blues have their eyes set on Tomas Araujo. There are fewer chances for this signing as Benefica will not let go of an important player.
Chelsea has a packed squad of defenders such as Wesley Fofana and Levi Colwill who are first choices. Maresca is aiming to strengthen the reserve members of the team. The primary target of the team is Tomas Araujo but the next transfer window will decide the defender’s final destination.
