Chelsea defender to return to West London immediately

One Chelsea defender is set to train with the first team. He is back from loan after six months and is now likely to stay at West London.

The Blues sent many players on loan in summer. Some of them will stay until end of the season whereas some will be called back by the club. One of the players who is back at West London is Aaron Anselmino.

Aaron Anselmino joined the Blues this summer from Boca Juniors. They paid £14 million and offered the 19 year old contract running until 2031. He was then sent on loan back to Boca Juniors.

Anselmino played 18 games for Boca in the 2024 season. He ended the season with 2 goals and 3 assists. Now, the 19 year old is set to join back Chelsea and continue his career in Blue jersey.

Anselmino returns to Chelsea

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Anselmino is back at West London club. He said that the decision is confirmed and the player will travel to london at the end of this week. Lastly, Romano added that the 19 year old will start training at Cobham from next week.

The young Argentine is part of Chelsea’s long term plans. He can be further sent on loan again but as of now, he will stay at West London. The Blues are proving little less effective in defence. Hence, the 19 year old can also make his debut very soon for the Blues.

There are some key changes expected at Chelsea next year. As of now, Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi have been linked with exit. This will open up huge space at the club.

The Blues are likely to sign new defender but they can also opt to focus on available options. Hence, this gives players like Anselmino a hope that they might have a chance to become a first team regular.
